Travel Journal: EVI in Tokyo

Thanks to the Fédération Française de la Chaussure and Business France, I had the opportunity to travel to Japan for a professional mission. A few intense days in Tokyo, alongside Dimitri, to meet distributors and discover the Japanese retail culture.

From the moment I arrived, I was struck by Tokyo’s energy. The glowing signs, the bustling alleys, the smells of food escaping at every street corner.

Everything felt new, everything made you want to stop and take it in.

Our first steps on the Japanese market

We presented our collections to influential players in the Japanese market, aligned with EVI’s universe. These meetings showed us that our brand, our products, and our values sparked interest and captured attention.

The program also included a retail tour across Tokyo. From minimalist storefronts to avant-garde concept stores, and the fashion floors of department stores, we discovered the full richness of Japanese retail culture. An immersion that allowed us to better understand its codes.

Beautiful encounters

Beyond business, this trip was full of meaningful encounters. We were surrounded by other French creators, as well as the teams from the Fédération Française de la Chaussure and Business France. These few days were also an opportunity to share meals, laughter, and even karaoke sessions—a must in Japan.

These simple and genuine moments are the ones that stay with you, and they make up the true beauty of the EVI adventure.
